Great health begins at your core, with a healthy digestive system.*
Aside from eating because it tastes great, why is eating important? Eating fuels your body with nutrients that are vital to overall health, growth and maintenance of the body. Basically EVERYTHING that you want your body to do and how it functions for you is directly influenced by what you eat - your skin health, your energy levels, your organs, your bowel movements... you name it, food can fuel it. The key is to support a healthy digestive system, which will transform the foods that you eat into something that you can ABSORB and USE.
"Let food be thy medicine and thy medicine by thy food."
Hipocrates, Father of Medicine (460-377 B.C.)
What happens to foods that my body does not use? In a healthy digestive system, your body will absorb nutrients that it needs and properly eliminate "food material" that is not used through healthy, regular bowel movements. What is crazy is that most of the meals that we eat today are cooked and processed, such as pastas, breads, meats, canned foods, snacks and sweets. The heat used to cook, process and pasteurize foods can deactivate some naturally occurring enzymes and alter its nutritional content. This is the reason we often combine Flo with OneBode Blend. When the digestive system is stressed, it can create feelings of discomfort, uneasiness, extended feelings of fullness or throw off your daily bowel movements.
Why are enzymes vital for breaking foods down? By nature, all living foods have enzymes in it. Through our cooking practices, we deactivate these naturally occurring enzymes and call on our body's supply of enzymes to do ALL the work. This can be overwhelming!
OneBode Flo contains a broad array of vegetarian enzymes for every meal and snack.
•Amylase enzyme - breaks down carbohydrates (ie. pastas, breads, cookies, bagels, oats) into simple sugars for energy* •Protease I, II and Peptidase enzymes - breaks down the various bonds in protein (ie meats, nuts, beans, seeds) into amino acids used for building blocks* •Lipase enzyme - specific enzyme to break down fats (found in meats, dressings, oils, dairy) into fatty acids that the body uses for energy, hormone production* •
Invertase - breaks down table sugar that is found in almost all processed foods* •Cellulase enzyme - breaks down cell walls of plants to release phytonutrients and fiber* •Lactase enzyme - breaks down milk sugar, lactose, that is found in dairy products* •Maltase enzyme - breaks down malt sugar into two glucose molecules* •
Hemicellulase enzyme complex - breaks down sugar molecules found in beans and legumes* How does Probiotics support healthy digestion? Probiotics, a.k.a. friendly bacteria, also help support healthy digestion by maintaining the health of the intestinal lining, ward off the growth of potentially harmful bacteria and also produce enzymes to support the continued breakdown of foods as it travels through your gut. Flo’s probiotic blend includes a maintenance supply of Lactobacillus acidophilus DDS-1, Lactobacillus plantarum OM, Lactobacillus bulgaricus, Streptococcus thermophilus, and Enterococcus feacium to help maintain healthy intestinal flora.* For an extra boost of probiotics, Flo can be combined with OneBode Live.
OneBode Lifestyle Tips •Set your fork down between bites to fully chew your food before swallowing it. •Don't overwhelm your stomach with a large meal at one sitting. Split the meal into two meals. •Carry Flo with you, everywhere you go. Check out the OneBode Tin - a small container for your pocket or purse. Also available in Flo Travel Packets and in a Flo Family Size bottle.

Enzymes, Vegetarian
Amylase is an enzyme that breaks down starch into simple sugars. Starch is a carbohydrate consisting of a large number of glucose units. Foods that contain starch include rice, potatoes, cornmeal, cereals, wheat flour products, bagels, pasta, muffins, and grains. Vegetarian sourced.
Cellulase is an enzyme that breaks down cellulose, an indigestible fiber found in many fruits and vegetables. By breaking down the fiber, the intercellular fluids and nutrients contained in the fibers of fruits and vegetables are further released. This enzyme does not completely dissolve the fiber but makes it more efficient as a fiber as it moves through the digestive system. Vegetarian sourced.
Invertase is an enzyme that breaks down the sugar sucrose into the simple sugars, glucose and fructose. Sucrose is commonly known as table sugar. This sugar is found in a very wide range of foods and beverages. Even free meals may use sugar to enhance the flavor. Vegetarian sourced.
Lactase is an enzyme that breaks down the milk sugar, lactose. Lactose is found in milk and milk products such as ice cream and yogurt. It can also be found in small amounts in dips, dressings, baked goods, processed meats, protein powders and bars, and candies. Vegetarian sourced.
Lipase is an enzyme that breaks down fats into glycerol and free fatty acids. Foods that contain fat include oils, animal meats, seafood, dressings, spreads and dips, nuts and nut butters. Vegetarian sourced
Maltase is an enzyme that breaks down the sugar maltose into two units of glucose. Maltose (aka malt sugar) is a naturally occurring sugar that is produced as the body breaks down starches (chain of glucose) by using the amylase enzyme. It is naturally found in germinating grains and various fruits. Vegetarian sourced.
Protease I, II and Peptidase are enzymes that break down protein into smaller units and eventually into individual amino acids. Proteins are complex structure and requires a variety of proteolytic enzymes to break it down. Foods that contain protein include red meats, poultry, eggs, seafood, gelatin, casein, protein powders and bars (whey, soy or other vegetable proteins) and vegetables. Vegetarian sourced.
PROBIOTICS, FRIENDLY BACTERIA. The word “probiotics” means “for life.” Within the realm of nutritional supplementation, probiotics as defined by the World Health Organization are “live microorganisms, which, when administered in adequate amounts, confer a health benefit to the host.”
The probiotics in OneBode Flo are lactic acid-producing bacteria. Lactic bacteria have the ability to transform sugar into lactic acid, which is a substance that helps ward off undesirable bacteria.
Lactobacillus acidophilus DDS-1 is a specific strain of L. acidophilus. Benefits based on documented research includes: helps digestion of proteins and carbohydrates, produces B vitamins, produces enzymes to support the digestion of milk sugar, produces substances that support digestion and supports a healthy immune system.* This bacterium is the main inhabitant of the lower small intestinal area and is found on other areas of the body.
Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus are strains of bacteria that are transient and are often paired together. They produce large amounts of lactase to support the breakdown lactose, a sugar found in diary products.*
Lactobacillus plantarum OM is a specific strain of L. plantarum has demonstrated proteolytic activity (breaking down protein) and activity to support healthy immune function.*
Enterococcus faecium is a transient bacterium that is considered one of the most durable organisms due to its ability to adapt to a variety of conditions for survival. It tolerates a wide range of pH and temperature.*
Recommended Use: As a dietary supplement, take 1 to 3 capsules with meals or as directed by a health professional.
